Since accepting the role of President this year, I have had many opportunities to represent our society and keep the face of Nematology front and center with sister societies, federal funding agencies, and other avenues to promote our science.

Dow AgroSciences has provided the Society of Nematologists with funds to support graduate student travel to attend the 2009 Meeting of SON. At least four awards of $500 (USD) each will be given to students presenting papers (oral or poster presentations) at the Society of Nematologists 48th Annual Meeting which will occur at the Society of Nematologists and Soil Ecology Society Conference in Burlington, Vermont (July 12-15, 2009).
